About Us

our history

The year was 1915, and entrepreneur C. N. Myers made a bold decision to create a company in order to publish and print a magazine dedicated to show chickens, his passion. Thus, the company Everybodys Poultry Magazine was formed in a small newspaper building in Hanover, Pennsylvania, with nothing more than ambition and one letterpress.

The venture and the magazine were an immediate global success. In fact, within a few decades, circulation for Everybodys Poultry Magazine had reached 140,000 worldwide. The printing and publishing of many other publications followed, as did a name change: Everybodys Publishing Company. By 1960, offset equipment was added to eight letterpresses, linotype, and a binder.

In 1967, R. Champlin Sheridan became President and sole stockholder of Everybodys Press. In 1973, Champlin and his 58 employees broke ground to build a larger facility. In 1982, the company name was changed to The Sheridan Press. This signified an increased emphasis on printing and publishing services to the scientific, technical, medical and scholarly journal publishing community.

The past few decades have seen tremendous growth for The Sheridan Press – in equipment, manpower, customers and technological advancements. But one thing remains steadfast: the dedication of the employees and their commitment to provide exceptional customer service.
